LFW'10 Make-up Trends: Pastel Glow [Pria Kataaria Puri]

"There was a wash of cool tones in this stunning Pria Kataaria Puri dress, so I wanted Mughda's makeup to have that same pastel peachy sheerness,” said her makeup artist, Clint Fernandes. He blended pink, rose gold and slate shadow on the eyelids and kept the lips neutral with rosy lipstick and a touch of a petal pink gloss.

Make-up Trend: Sunkissed Skin

As the temperature rises, we need to adapt our makeup combinations to keep our complexion looking fresh. Rather than layering on cakey powders, opt for gel formulas to get a realistic-looking sun-kissed glow like Mughda Godse.

To prevent melting makeup and to keep color in place, mix a liquid or gel bronzer with an oil-absorbing primer.

Make-up Trend: Flattering Red Lipstick

Manufacturers produce hundreds of varieties of red shades. Some are orangey, others have a hint of purple. Some have flecks of metallic, others are matte. Finding a flattering shade can be a stressful endeavor, but we have a solution!

Mughda Godse got it right. She has warm-skin and looks best in silver jewelry, so she chose a blue-based berry red. If you look better in gold jewelry, opt for a orange-based red.

Make-up Trend: Matte Red Lips

Up your pout with a bold red, like Mughda Godse's lipstick, but tone it down a touch by eschewing glossiness in favor of a matte finish.

Fill in lips with a red pencil before applying lipstick. Then set the lipstick and soak up its oils with a fine dusting of translucent powder.

Make-up Trend: Smooth Lips

If you have cracked or peeling lips, there’s no way to rock a fierce red lipstick like Mughda Godse. There's more to a kissable pout than swiping on a stick of lip balm in wintertime.

Check your ingredients! Cinnamon mints and gum can dry and irritate your lips. Also, some lipsticks contain a preservative, propyl gallate, that cause irritation on many people’s lips. Skip these irritants to keep lips looking silky smooth.
