Madhuri's Slumdog Millionaire Premiere Beauty Breakdown

At the Slumdog Millionaire Premiere at Mumbai, Madhuri Dixit had natural kohl rimmed eyes and berry stained lips, created by celebrity makeup artist Bharat Godambe. It was refreshing to see her with something other than red or pink on the lips. The marroonish brown color complimented her features and skin tone very well.

Smudge Chanel Le Crayon Khol in Black on upper lash line and Ambre beneath lower lashes. Apply Lancome Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic to lids, followed by Lancome Oscillation Mascara in Black. Dust cheeks with Chanel Rose Bronze Powder Blush on the apples of the cheeks. Finish with Chanel Ultra Wear Lipcolor in Alexandrite.

Make-up Trend: Creamy Lipstick

Imagine mixing the rich hue of your everyday lipstick with the moisturizing qualities of a lip balm. Dry, cakey lipsticks of the past made pouts look anything but kissable. But the latest crop of conditioning lipsticks glide on smooth and leave your lips buttery soft like Madhuri's .

To make creamy lipstick look fresh and modern (a little less granny), dab a matching gloss over the middle of the upper and lower lips.

Make-Up Trend: Youthful Skin

Irregardless of your age, you can deduct 10 years from your face. Add luminosity and a youthful sheen to the skin by patting a rosy cream stick onto the skin, focusing on the cheeks. It catches the light and adds an ephemeral transparency.

Instead of dusting powder all over face, lightly sweep translucent powder just over your forehead and chin. Let the rest glow!

Make-up Trend: Flattering Red Lips

The key to wearing red lipstick is finding the right red. Try this quick test: If the veins on the underside of your wrist appear green, you probably have warm skin tones and should try a an orange-based hue. Blue veins generally indicate cooler tones, so opt for a shade with a blueish tint.

Still timid to try bold red? Try putting the lipstick on your finger, then blot it on top of balm-coated lips to create a sheer stain.

Make-Up Trend: Glowing Skin

Start with primer (M.A.C Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF50), then foundation (M.A.C Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation) and concealer (M.A.C Select Moisturecover). Then dust on bronzer (M.A.C Refined Golden Bronzing Powder), concentrating on the forehead and cheeks. Then layer on peach blush (M.A.C Powder Blush in Pinch O' Peach), first by using a circular motion on the apple, then draw it up toward the temple, using a sponge (M.A.C Disc Sponge), for wet blush or a fluffy brush (M.A.C 150 Powder Brush), for powders. Makeup artists generally recommend cream blush (M.A.C Blushcreme in Blossoming). "It gives sheen with out greasiness."
