Make-up Trend: Crimson Pink Cheeks/Lips

Amisha Patel looked fresh and glowy at Shilpa Shetty's wedding reception. The actress had flushed cheeks with very minimal eye make-up. To wear this hue, use a few extra drops of foundation to be sure your skin tone is as even as possible. Then, blend the stain on the rounded apples of your cheeks—the waxy formula has stronger pigments and a more sheer, natural finish. Apply the same stain on your lips and finish with a lipgloss with the same hue.

Make-up Trend: Glowing, Luminous Skin

Not many actresses can gloat about a photospread in HELLO! Magazine with mere guest appearances in movies. But Ameesha Patel can, and she sported 24K skin to match her gorgeous lehenga that Manish Malhotra designed for her exclusively.

Picture perfect! Prep skin with a gold-infused makeup base to smooth fine lines while adding a subtle glimmer to your complexion. Guerlain's L'Or Radiance concentrate cools, hydrates and illuminates the skin in one step.

Make-up Trend: Even-toned Skin

Discoloration and dark patches have no place on our faces! Luminous, even-toned skin makes you look years younger. To undo the damage the sun causes your complexion, look for a night cream with potent levels of albatin, which inhibits melanin production.

To keep skin looking radiant, wear a sheer foundation containing SPF and glow-enhancers during the day, like Laura Mercier's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer.

Vimi on Faces being her Canvas

From the looks of it, had she tried she could have given the models a run for their money. Now she helps them get on the runway. Senior M.A.C make-up artist, Vimi Joshi would rather prefer dolling the models up than movie stars.
“Behind the scenes, is where the action takes place. Dressing up models is more fun because on the runway, you can be creative and more experimental. But when you are styling for movies, it is very character-oriented,” she asserted.
True, but that doesn’t hold her back to dress up movie stars. She has done the make-up for various Bollywood stars including the likes Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Urmila, Mandira Bedi, Amisha Patel and Vidya Balan.
“Unlike, the grapevine, stars are one of the best people to work with. Most of them, come and hug me after the make-up is over, I think that is a sign of appreciation,” Vimi said.
But if there’s something she rues, is the lack of courage in actors to experiment with make-up.
“I hope that Indian actors could get a little more experimental because, they are the trend-setters of the country. Deepika Padukone’s eye make-up was heavily adopted by people. I had a lot of people who came to me and asked me for the Om Shanti Om eye-liner. The same case followed with Bipasha Basu’s extended eye-liner in Race,” Vimi informed.
Vimi adds that Indians should experiment with colors such as gray, purple, blue and greens.

“I would say that the top make-up artists in India always keep up with the international beauty trends. I had just returned from New York and the Milan fashion weeks. So I closely followed the international trends and adapted them to the Indian skin-tone while working for the Delhi Fashion Week,” the make-up artist said.

Kajol, Priyanka, and Amisha on Powder Foundations

Kajol and Priyanka have given a whole new meaning to dusky skin in Bollywood. While Amisha Patel has the traditional peaches 'n cream skin. All these ladies have one thing in common, with or without make-up they all look as beautiful. But, of course everyone needs to look picture-perfect when it comes to movies. They all share their favorite foundations.

Kajol swears by Guerlain Divinora Compact Powder Foundation, it gives her the perfect coverage with her combination skin.

Priyanka loves Clinique Super Balanced Compact Powder, she says, "this cream to powder finish works wonderfully with her dry skin.

Amisha says, "Nothing touches my face except Giorgio Armani Designer Foundation. I love the richness of the foundation. " She also adds, "This gives the skin full coverage with a dewy finish, just the way she likes it."

Make-up Trend Forecasts

Make-up too saw a wide variety of colors this year. In fact, even the quintessentially deep black smoky look saw some colors being added to it.
“Instead of smudging some plain black shadow, people this year lightened their eyes with some shimmery colored powder on the upper as well as the lower lids,” says make-up artist Ambika Pillai.

Clean and scrubbed faces and an almost nude no make-up look dominated the regular scene.
In fact, this simple, non-made-up look made for quite a statement in itself. “Many celebrities stepped out with beige eye-shadow and neutral lipstick." says Aniruddha.

The light lips look quickly became the rage everywhere.
“A pale, glossy mouth does really look hot, both when worn to downplay heavy kohl eyes or by itself,” says Ambika.

“Shimmer and shine of the 70s came back with a bang,” declares make-up artist Aniruddha Chakladar.
The twist in the tale, though, was the addition of a metallic touch to all the shimmer. “Along with regular gloss and shine, there was a definite inclusion of metallic hues like bronze and gold that crept into the palette,” adds Aniruddha.

Make-up Trend: Long and Voluminous Lashes

Not every star needs a glam squad! Give yourself these lush lashes. The key to a full, feathery fringe is two types of mascara.

Apply a lengthening formula from root to tip. Top with a volume-building mascara just at the root so ends don't get clumpy, adds Rodriguez.
